Bob Watson's Memorial Rubicon Run Sept. 18-21 2008

This years assault on the Rubicon will be dedicated to the late Bob Watson.  Bob was a regular on this trail for many years, it only seem right to run this trail in his memory.  We lost Bob in a jeep accident December 21st, 2007

Run Coordinator is Don Fletcher.  You can contact Don at fletcher@goldrush.com or 209-274-0970 (cell) 209-810-2447

We have ran this trail for several years now and this year will be a little different than years past.  Here's the format for this years run

Two groups starting in two different spots on two different days

Group one:

bullet

Starts at Loon lake on Thursday Morning at 8:00 am.  Travel to Buck Inland Lake and sets camp. A run up the old Sluice is planned for the afternoon.  Friday morning group 1 will load up just the few things they need and head up Cadillac Hill to the look out point

Group two:

bullet

Starts at Homewood on Friday morning at 9:00 am and heads to the look out point and waits for group 1 to arrive.

Both Groups together:

bullet

Both groups merge at the look out and start back to Buck Inland Lake

bullet

Group camps at Buck Inland Lake Friday night

bullet

Group heads out at 9:00 am Saturday morning back to Loon Lake

Run is over around 5:00 pm on Saturday.

This new format should give all of who want a little more wheeling and some time at Buck Inland Lake and also accommodate those who only have 2 days to run the trail.  It also offers a twist in running it backward.

We need a group leader to coordinate Group 2 Friday morning.  If you would like to help put this run together, please contact Don.
